These curriculum-based programs for boys and girls in 3rd through 5th grade use running as the platform to teach lessons about fitness and life.
The objective over the 10-12 week session is to train for a 5k (3.1 mile) race. Besides running, important topics and discussion are weaved into fun games and activities.
The programs are available twice a year in the fall (September to December) and Spring (March to May) and operate through the following local elementary schools. Pickering Valley, Lionville Elementary, Shamona Creek, Uwchlan Hills, St. Elizabeth and Springton Manor.
This program is led by volunteer coaches (parents, teachers, staff members, or community members). If you would like to volunteer or coach, or to get more information on the program, please call or email us.

HELPING THEM REALIZE THEIR POTENTALProgram Mission
Girls on the Run uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Through interactive activities such as running, playing games, and discussing important issues, participants learn how to celebrate being girls. The 10-12 week program focuses on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health. The girls are empowered with a greater sense of self-awareness, a sense of achievement and a foundation in team building to help them become strong, content, and self-confident women.
